Bolloré invents "Tebboune's army": an army of channels, a fake-news machine

The accusation, first

According to the press, the Bolloré machine — CNews, Europe 1, the JDD, Paris Match — is reportedly campaigning to prove that Algiers maintains a "Tebboune army" on French soil: agents, relays, influencers, mosques, whatever you like. The trick is a familiar one: when France fails, an external enemy is found for it. The Sahel lost? Algiers. The gas gone? Algiers. The market lost? Algiers. And now, an "army"? Still Algiers. The argument has never changed: it never needed proof.

The fantasy, next

For proof, there is none. A "Tebboune army" in France — how many divisions? Names? Documents? Evidence? Nothing. We search, we dig, we question, and we find only what we had already decided to find. That is the Bolloré method: announce the conclusion first, then go looking for images that fit. Albania instead of Paris was the same process: they want a Muslim crowd, so they go and fetch it abroad. They want an "Algerian army", so they will build it in-house.

The projection, finally — and it is fierce

And here is the crux of the matter. Who is talking about an "army of influence"? A man who owns CNews, C8, Europe 1, Le Journal du Dimanche, Paris Match, and a constellation of media outlets that hammer away, day after day, at one and the same ideological line. A man whose channels have been sanctioned by Arcom for incitement to hatred. A man who turned disinformation into an industry. There is the army of influence: it has channels, journalists, frequencies, and an owner. And it is not Algerian — it is Breton. Bolloré looks for a foreign army so as not to see his own, which parades on air every evening.

The conclusion

One does not flush out "Tebboune's army" in France for one simple reason: it does not exist. Bolloré's army, on the other hand, does exist, it broadcasts, and it is measurable — in frequencies, in audiences, in Arcom sanctions. When a billionaire who owns a media empire accuses a foreign country of having "an army of influence", it is not an investigation: it is a confession. And the confession, it needs no images of Albania to be heard.

⚠️ Published reservations. (1) The Bolloré machine's "campaign" about "Tebboune's army" is reported by Elmuashir; its exact reach remains to be confirmed. (2) Arcom's sanctions against CNews are documented facts.
